How to Connect Klaviyo to Your Quiz
Connecting Klaviyo lets SEA Survey send quiz submissions directly to your Klaviyo account. Quiz answers, product recommendations, and customer contact details are all included for use in flows and segments.
Prerequisites
- You have at least one published quiz in SEA Survey
- You have a Klaviyo account with API access
Steps
Step 1: Open the Klaviyo integration
- In the SEA Survey sidebar, click Integrations.
- Click the Quiz tab.
- On the Klaviyo card, click Try now.
Step 2: Connect to the API
If you have already connected Klaviyo for survey integration, your API key is pre-filled and the status shows Connected. You can skip to Step 3.
If not, enter your Klaviyo API Key in the field provided, then click Connect. To get your API key, go to your Klaviyo account settings, open API Keys, and create a new private key with full access to Profiles, Events, and Lists.
Step 3: Select quiz to sync
Use the dropdown to select which quiz you want to sync with Klaviyo. Only submissions from the selected quiz will be sent.
Step 4: Configure Email source
Choose which email SEA Survey uses when sending a submission to Klaviyo:
- Email capture input: Use the email the customer entered on the email capture page
- Customer account email: Use the email from the customer's logged-in Shopify account
Submissions without the selected email source will not trigger any event.
Step 5: Configure Product engagement
Choose when product engagement data from quiz results is sent to Klaviyo:
- Real-time: Send immediately when the customer interacts with a product
- Last action: Send the customer's last product interaction only
- Every 3 hours: Batch and send product engagement data every 3 hours
Click Save when done.
Step 6: Verify the connection
After saving, the Klaviyo card on the Quiz tab shows Connected. The button changes from Try now to Manage, which you can click to update your settings at any time.
Tips
- If a customer submits the quiz without an email, their product engagement data can still be sent using an anonymous profile
- Use Real-time product engagement if you want to trigger browse abandonment or cart flows immediately after the quiz
