# Offer discount on survey completion

### What is the Discount feature?

The Discount feature in Sea Survey allows you to incentivize survey completion by offering customers discount codes as rewards. When customers finish your survey, they can receive a discount code either immediately on a thank you card or via email, encouraging higher response rates and customer engagement.

This feature integrates seamlessly with your existing Shopify discount codes, so you maintain full control over the discount terms and conditions through your Shopify admin.

### Why use Discount incentives?

Offering discounts for survey completion provides several advantages for your feedback collection strategy:

### How to set up survey Discounts

Follow these steps to reward customers with discount codes for completing your surveys:

#### Step 1: Access the Discount settings

1. Navigate to the survey you want to add discounts to
2. Click on the **Discount** tab in the survey settings
3. Toggle the **Discount** switch to **On** to enable the feature

#### Step 2: Enter your Discount code

1. In the **Discount code** field, enter the discount code you created in your Shopify admin
2. Ensure the code is active and properly configured in your Shopify discount settings

Be aware that we cannot control if customers share discount codes with others once they receive them.

#### Step 3: Choose display method

You have two options for delivering discount codes to customers:

**Option A: Thank you card** 

**Best for:** Immediate gratification and simple survey flows

1. From the **Display discount code on** dropdown, select **Thank you card**
2. Customize your discount presentation:
   * Click **Discount banner** to edit the promotional message
   * Click **Thank you card** to customize the completion message and code display

**Option B: Email**

**Best for:** Building email lists and controlled distribution

1. From the **Display discount code on** dropdown, select **Email**
2. Configure email settings:
   * Check **Limit one discount code per email address** to prevent multiple uses per customer
   * Click **Request email card** to customize the email collection form
   * Click **Discount email** to design the email containing the discount code
